Edison Liquors

Edison Liquor Corporation

Edison Liquor Corporation, the first wholesale liquor company owned by Arthur Wirtz, was purchased in 1945.

Thirty-two years later, in 1977, Edison opened a new wholesale operation in Madison, Wisconsin known as Edison West.  Through this independent operation, Edison was able to service Madison and the outlying market area.  In 1990, Edison acquired United Wine & Spirits, a division of the Phillips Beverage company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  This acquisition made Edison Liquor Corporation the largest wholesaler in the greater Milwaukee region.  By the summer of 1997, Edison was servicing the northeastern area of the state, as well.

In the summer of 2001, Edison started distributing to the northwestern part of the state after the acquisition of certain assets of Metropolitan Liquor Corporation.

Currently, Edison Liquor Corporation services the entire state of Wisconsin with offices in Brookfield, Madison, Green Bay and Eau Claire.
