Corporate Strategy

The Wirtz Beverage Group has adapted a corporate philosophy to transition from the post-prohibition business model to one attentive of the 21 st Century market dynamics. We have redefined our core mission to better meet the needs of customers, partners and employees alike by promoting innovation, collaboration, integrity and trust.

We value communication; we honor commitments; we are accessible to our customers; we empower those around us; and we embrace vision and innovation.

Social responsibility is the cornerstone of the Wirtz Beverage Group efforts to bolster the reputation of the industry and its partner suppliers to ensure the responsible sale, use and consumption of alcohol by consumers. The Wirtz family approach is to integrate the principles of social responsibility on three levels: with its employees and customers, by establishing lasting partnerships with industry allies, and through corporate philanthropy.

Under the Wirtz Beverage Group umbrella, more than 2,000 employees nationwide serve as ambassadors for social responsibility. Through training, educational seminars and professional development opportunities, every employee learns the philosophy of responsible sale and consumption of beverage alcohol. These ambassadors reach tens of thousands of customers who will be held accountable to ensure responsible consumption and to prohibit alcohol sales to minors.

Wirtz Corporation believes that political participation is a condition of local, state and national citizenship. It regularly follows legislation relating to a number of industries in several states and the federal government. The corporation's philosophy in government, as well as business, is to be ahead of events. Consequently, long-term strategy reviews are conducted several times a year on how to remain in step with an ever-changing marketplace.

Rockwell Wirtz, President of Wirtz Corporation, is an Executive Committee member of the Wine and Spirit Wholesalers of America and plays in integral role in defining and advocating for responsible access to alcohol.
